My 2010 Goals - Kids, Life, and Working
As I begin this new year I'd love to share with you some of my goals. I don't ever make New Years Resolutions, I just think they're silly. Instead this year I've decided to set some goals for me and my family that I'm hoping we can achieve together.
1. Work From Home. My ultimate goal for last year was to become a work at home or stay at home mom. Unfortunately, I did not achieve this goal last year, so I'm holding out hopes for this year. If I could just win the Rite Aid game of Life and have them pay off my mortgage I would be able to achieve this dream of mine. I'm sure my chances are slim to none.
2. Become a Teacher. Since my chances of becoming a stay at home mom are slim I've decided to go back to school. I found an online school so I never have to attend classes which means I can do all of my school work while my children are sleeping. The outcome of this will be me becoming a teacher in a couple of years. Then by the time my son is in kindergarten I will have the same schedule as him which would be a wonderful goal for me to achieve. I'm hoping to find some funding for me to return to school so when I graduate with my post-baccalaureate I won't have any school loans. I never had any the first time around and I'm hoping for the same the second time.
3. Set up a budget. I'm hoping we can live by it. We used to have a budget, but never followed it. My husband is a little apprehensive because he loves to spend money on food (he loves to cook) so it's been a bit hard to get him onboard with the budget, but he's willing to do it knowing that it will help to pay off bills sooner than later.
4. Pay off some of our debt. I've been listening to Dave Ramsey and have gotten lots of pointers on paying off debt. We have a couple of loans, (one of them being my doctors bill for the baby), to pay off. We figured out how much extra we can put down on these loans and my goal is to have two of them paid off by the end of the year.
5. Be the best mother I can be. I want to be the best mother I possibly can be to my two boys. I hate the idea of having to return to work in a month after being off for six months with my baby and two year old. It kills me to know I have to go back and put them in someone else's care during the day, but bills have to be paid. With the little time I will have with them in between my work schedule I just want to be the best mother I can be.
