Medela Swing Pump Review and Giveaway

As many of you know I am a working mother to a small baby boy. Recently, I had to return to working full time outside of my home and I still wanted to breastfeed my baby. I believe breast milk is the best source of nutrients for the baby and gives them a stronger immunity to colds and other viruses. I highly encourage anyone who needs to return to work to continue to breastfeed if at all possible.

Upon my return to work I was in need of a really good breastpump. I needed something that was efficient, as I don't have a lot of time during my work day to pump. I also needed a pump that mimicked the baby as close as possible because I have a terrible time with let downs. My other requirement was an electric pump small enough so I didn't have to lug around a huge breast pump like the old style of electric pumps that used to be made years ago.

I found all of the features I was looking for in the Medela Swing breast pump. I absolutely love this pump. It's small, efficient, and met all of my requirements. It is a single pump that has a stimulation phase when you first turn it on that mimics a baby's sucking pattern. This was so important to me since it takes me a while to have a let down especially to a pump because I needed something similar to the baby which would help me relax better and have an easier time with letdowns. After two minutes the pump automatically switches from stimulation to expression phase. You can also adjust the level of pressure to suit your baby's pattern and what you feel the most comfortable with. Another feature I love is the whole thing fits in the palm of your hand.

I really have enjoyed using this pump. It's been nice to have a single pump at home too because my baby generally prefers to nurse on only one side. With the Medela Swing I am able to pump the other side when the baby refuses to nurse and I can have a supply of milk for later. This has been a life saver for me, and making sure that I don't become lopsided. I would highly recommend the Medela Swing breastpump to any nursing mother who is returning to work or just needs a good single breast pump.

  5. I'd love to win this because nursing is extremely frustrating for me, and I literally NEED to pump to keep up my milk supply, my body is just weird like that. All I have now is this terrible hand pump that takes forever, so having a new pump that will actually work will help me SO much!

I am having a hard time efficiently using my Avent pump, so this would be a lifesaver. It takes me like 5 minutes for letdown with my current pump.
