The Best Chocolate Candy You'll Ever Make - Frangos

To kick off the next couple of weeks with my frugal homemade gift ideas from the kitchen I thought I would start with my favorite candy recipe. This is the best chocolate candy recipe I have ever made and eaten. It's so good, you'll want to make this for everyone on your list.

These chocolates are silky smooth and melt in your mouth. They're extremely easy to make and it makes several dozen. My favorite flavor is mint, but you can add any flavor.

FRANGOS
2 cups chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter
1 1/8 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. flavoring of choice

Melt the chocolate chips and set aside to cool. Beat the butter and powdered sugar till creamy. Beat the eggs and add to sugar mixture. Add vanilla and flavoring to chocolate chips. Add chocolate to sugar mixture and beat till creamy and smooth.
Drop in candy cups by spoonfuls.

Tips:
*If you're worried about the raw eggs I would heat them 140-150 degrees, being careful not to scramble them.
*I like to put the frango mixture in a piping bag with a star tip and pipe the candy into candy cups. It's easier and prettier than using a spoon.
