Free Diaper Round-Up

Having two young children I know how many diapers kids can go through. For us, every diaper made a difference. As many as I can find for free really helps us out. Here are a few places where you can request samples for free diapers:

Kirkland Diapers
Huggies Pure and Natural
Pampers Extra Protection

In addition you can sign up at Pull-Ups, Huggies, Pampers, and Luvs to get money saving offers in the mail.

If you know of any others please let me know, I'm always on the lookout for free samples or money saving offers.

Fantastic Safeway Shopping Day

I just made my trip to Safeway with my kids. We had a shopping cart full of groceries. My two year old was drowning in them in the basket, but he was loving every minute of it. I had so many coupons I knew I was going to get a good deal. When we picked up our last item I realized my coupons had disappeared. I had them sitting in the car seat with the baby and he must have kicked them off. I wanted to cry and my two year old could tell, and he kept saying, "don't cry mommy. Off to the customer service desk we went, and I was thrilled to learn the meat department guy turned them in for me. Thank heavens because I was going to put everything back and leave with nothing if I didn't have my coupons.

We ended up with a total bill just over $100. After all my coupons the total came to $50.87 and I got a $5 off my next shopping trip. I expected to get the $10 Kohl's cash too, but I didn't for some reason. I'm not sure what I did wrong to not get it, but I'm looking into it. Even if I can't somehow find a way to get it, I still did a killer shopping trip.

Pancake Mix and Syrup

My son is always asking for pancakes for breakfast. I hardly ever do breakfasts with cereal or fast food type products just because I hate to pay the price for them. If they're cheap or almost free, then we might go ahead and buy some, but more often I prefer to make my own food from scratch. This is a recipe I grew up with and I'm happy to know my son loves it too. I prefer to use whole wheat flour, but you could also use white flour.

PANCAKE MIX

6 cups flour
1 1/2 cups powdered milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup baking powder
pinch of salt

Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container.
When ready to use mix desired amount with one egg. 3/4 cup = 4 pancakes

Waffle variation: Mix desired amount with one egg and oil. 1 cup of mix with 1 Tbsp. oil

HONEY SYRUP

1 cup honey
2 Tbsp. butter
1 - 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Mix all ingredients together. Heat till warm and butter is melted. Serve on pancakes or waffles.

What Did You Say

Whenever my son says or does something silly, we generally say to him, "no way Jose." Well, the other day he said it to us, but he didn't say it right and we had to have him repeat it. He said, "no way Hosey." Now everyone in our household says, "no way Hosey." I'm sure it will be one of those things we say for years and years to come.

Become A Generation Mom

If you're a mother and haven't already done so you should sign up to become a Generation Mom with Kids II. This is a wonderful program. If you qualify for various products you will get to test them and get paid for your time.
I signed up in September and not long after that they contacted me to review a bouncer. It arrived on my doorstep, we tested it for two weeks, UPS picked it up, and then they sent me a $50 Target gift card. I didn't even have to contact UPS for pick up, they did all the work. I just put the package on my doorstep and UPS came and got it.
It was very easy and fun. In fact, my son loved the bouncer much better than the one we have I almost hated sending it back. It was definitely worth the $50 gift card to Target. Now we have some spending money for the Christmas season.

Silly Sayings - Cold Season

Right now I'm battling a cold with my 2 year old and as of this morning it looks like my baby caught his cold. No fun.

Anyways, a couple of days ago when my 2 year olds nose was running he said, "mommy my buggars are running."

My husband and I couldn't stop laughing.
