Frustrated

I just want to vent a little. I've been looking for more than two years for a way to work from home. I still have had no luck. I've been looking especially hard this week with the extra time on my hands (my kids have actually taken naps at the same time). I really really don't want to return to my job outside the home in a few months. I hope in the next month or two I will be fortunate enough to find work at home job. I really want to be a stay at home or work at home mom. I hate sending them to daycare, and hope that I won't ever have to again. This is my dream, whether I will succeed or not, I don't know.

Funny Things Kids Say

We've really been working hard all week on getting my son potty trained. He'll be three in a few months and we just feel it's time. Well, the only way to get him to realize about when he goes potty was to make him run around naked, even his doctor recommended this. I guess it just works better for days. The first day there were several accidents, the second day not quite as many. On the second day he said, "mommy I'm leaking." I thought that was so funny and true.

Latest Project

I thought I'd share with everyone my latest project. I've been working on this shirt for the last week. It's really only taken a few hours, but it's taken me all week. It's hard to get a lot of sewing done at once with two little ones in the house.

I'd been wanting to make a nice button up shirt for my two year old for a while now, but never found fabric that I liked. Then I came across this adorable fabric by Amy Schimler for Robert Kauffman fabrics. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. I knew I had to make a button up shirt the first time I laid my eyes on the fabric. I still need to find some buttons. I would love to put some adorable animal buttons on it, but I haven't made it to the fabric store yet to see what they have. Next, I will be making some adorable pants to match. I'm going to make regular looking pants and cut out a couple of the animals and applique them either on the knees or where the pockets would go.

The final step will be to go have his picture taken. He will look too cute in this outfit to not take advantage of a wonderful photo opportunity like this.
