I love to make my own sandwich bread, it's one of those things I generally will not buy. This recipe is my absolute favorite whole wheat bread recipe. My son really loves this bread too. He always asks for a jelly sandwich with cheese on it. I know it sounds weird, but it's what he loves. I enter this bread in our county fair every year, and yes, I usually win a prize. This is my mothers recipe and she has made it for years also. In about one hour, from start to finish, you will have made four loaves of bread. I hope you will enjoy this bread as much as I do.Tips:
-It makes four loaves, but you can always adjust it to make one or two loaves. Two loaves works great in a Kitchen Aid. Four loaves, you have to mix by hand.
-Makes wonderful rolls, cinnamon rolls, and hamburger buns. (16 rolls=1 loaf)
-Add raisins and cinnamon for a swirl bread, or add herbs and make herb bread
-I like to slice mine, then freeze it for later use.
