101 Offline Activities Book Review

I am always looking for things to do with my boys that don't involve electronics or the TV. I was so happy when I learned about the book 101 Offline Activities You Can Do With Your Children. This book is packed full, with 101 activities, of several ideas that is sure to keep me and my children entertained for quite a while.

When we first got the book I looked through it with my older son. He picked out so many things he wanted to try. I really like how the book is laid out too. If you're traveling there's several activities for that, there's kitchen experiments, art activities, things to do when you're waiting somewhere.

101 Offline Activities You Can Do With Your Children is a great book if you're looking for new ideas of activities to keep you and your children occupied. This book would be great for a rainy day when the kids can't go outside. They could look through the book and pick out something they'd love to try and they wouldn't be plugged into some sort of electronic. I would highly recommend this book for activities for children, which is something I'm always looking for.

The $5 Takeout Cookbook Review

I've recently had the opportunity to look at the $5 Takeout Cookbook. This is such a wonderful cookbook. There are so many delicious looking recipes in it. I've already marked several I want to try especially Cozumel Chicken. It sounds delicious.

The $5 Takeout Cookbook has a compilation of several recipes from things you would order when you go out to eat. So, when you don't feel like going out, or don't have the money, you can stay home and cook what you would have ordered thanks to the $5 Takeout Cookbook. There are several recipes I recognize from some of the restaurants I've ordered from.

This book would be a wonderful addition to any recipe book collection. It is a great resource for those who want to cook the dishes ordered at restaurants at home instead. I will be making several of the recipes from the $5 Takeout Cookbook in the near future.

Signature Styles Review and a Givewaway

If you love to sew like I do, then you're going to love the book Signature Styles. This book is a wonderful book that showcases 20 different designers. There is also a pattern from each designer in the book. Some of the patterns are things I might not make myself, but I love a lot of the patterns in this book and there are several that I would love to make.

Signature Styles talks about these different designers including Heather Bailey, Kayte Terry, Megan Hunt, Meg Allan Cole, among many others. The book goes into detail about what inspires the designers, their styles, and even a little about their family life. It's a great way to peek into the lives of the designers we've all wanted to know a little more about and how they got started in the business.

One of my lucky readers will have a chance to win the book Signature Styles. I'm going to make this very easy. All you need to do is leave a comment on this blog related to this post and mention what is your favorite thing to sew. For an extra entry you can follow me on twitter. Be sure that I have a way to contact you if you win by leaving your e-mail address. This contest will end August 28, 2011. Good Luck!
